Mme Jacques's Class: Milkshakes and So Much Mooooooore!

Milkshakes! What a great start to the week on Monday!

In Language, we read "Ma grand-mère Groseille" for our shared reading. We did lots of grammar activities with this week's sentence. The rest of the time we finished up our Daily 5 centres and did some "Ketchup". We are done centres for the year and will be focusing on completing all unfinished work.

In Math, we did activities on translations, reflections, and rotations. We looked at key concepts and terminology for each. We also spent time finishing up other unfinished work.

InSocial Studies, the students looked at Education during pioneer times. We also discussed pioneer communities and did shared readings and activities on both.

In Physical Education, the students played cooperative tag games.

The students are still working hard on their weaving in Visual Arts. A few are finished and have brought them home. We also spent some time completing a small Father's Day gift. There's just a little hint with the material picture so we don't ruin the surprise.

On Thursday, Lisa Mooney visited our class. She is the Dairy Nutritionist at Maplevale Farms which we visited on Friday. She did a great presentation to the class about the differences in dairy farming in settler times and now.

On Friday, we visited Maplevale Farms with Mme Sandra's class. The Creightons planned a fabulous day for us. We had wonderful weather for the trip. A huge thank you goes out to the Creighton family for their generosity and all their hard work in organizing and executing this outing! Also, thank you to Nathalie McPherson for bringing water and Popsicles for both classes.
