Bienvenue

Well, it's back to school time again. I'm looking forward to meeting all of my new students this year, some to whom I have taught visual arts in the past and others that I am meeting for the first time. I have worked hard the last couple of weeks to get my (new) classroom ready for everyone. I'm sure we will have a great time getting to know one another and learning together.

The class pets are ready to visit starting the very first weekend and my "Dollar Auction" incentive program to get the students speaking fluently and continuously in French will be starting up soon. Information will be coming home via newsletter/letter in regards to these.

My primary means of communication is through the agenda, however my door is always open to meet with parents. I am not usually available before the start of school as I have two young boys of my own to get to two different daycares.

Please do not be concerned that your son or daughter is in a split grade. This is a wonderful opportunity for them. The younger children get a strong example and the older children get the opportunity to really develop their leadership skills. I have taught grades 2/3 and 3/4 several times and have many structures/procedures in place that allow the students to be working on the appropriate developmental skills and curriculum that they need to work on.

I'm sure we will have a great year together as your child progresses through!

Our class pets: Henri le hamster, Paul le papillon, Pierre le poisson, and Charmaine la chienne.
